Enrollment Information

The open application period for the 2012-2013 school year will be conducted from September 15th through March 1st.

How does enrollment work?

 

An enrollment application needs to be completed to place a prospective student on our waiting list. These applications are not available online; we encourage parents to come by and see the school whenever possible. Please call the office at (727) 298-2778 to arrange a time to pick up an application.

We have arranged brief tours of the school during the school day so that prospective families can get a sense of a typical day for our students. Please call the office to R.S.V.P. for a tour spot. Tour enrollment is limited to avoid significant distraction for our students.

All tours start promptly at 9:30 a.m. and last approximately 45 minutes. Most tours are hosted every other Thursday.

Enrollment Policy

The following policy is used in determining the order in which prospective students are taken off the wait list. This ensures fair and equitable treatment of all those interested in enrolling at Academie Da Vinci. Our school will follow the enrollment calendar established by the Pinellas County School Board for the School Choice Program.

Sibling Preference - Any student interested in enrolling in Academie Da Vinci who has a sibling already enrolled in the school shall be given preference. The enrollment form must be received by the school at any time during the open enrollment period.

New Applicants - The application period is between September 15 and March 1 of the year prior to desired admission. All applications received by March 1 will be entered into an outsourced, random lottery system. Letters will be sent to parents informing them of their student’s position on the post-lottery enrollment list. All prospective students who miss the March 1st application deadline will be added to the waiting list in the order in which the enrollment forms were received after the names of those in the lottery.

When seat availability numbers are known by the school, prospective students will be invited to fill the vacancies according to this policy. Parents or guardians will be given one week to respond to the invitation. If a response is not received in that time it will be assumed that the student is no longer interested in enrolling and the vacancy will be given to a student further down the list.

Family Consideration - In the event that a family with multiple siblings is interested in enrolling for the same school year, family consideration will be given. Therefore, whenever possible, siblings not currently enrolled in the school shall be given preference.

Military Preference - Any student interested in enrolling in Academie Da Vinci who has a parent or guardian who is active in the military shall be given preference. The enrollment form must be received by the school at any time during the open enrollment period.

Academie Da Vinci will not discriminate during the student enrollment process.

Applicants must re-apply each school year.

Why is there no application online?

Very simply, Academie Da Vinci does not believe that one school will meet the needs of every child. In an effort to make sure that Academie Da Vinci's mission and philosophy meet the needs of each applicant we ask that parents contact the school for a tour. After the tour parents will have the opportunity to fill out an application if they are interested in seeking enrollment. At Academie Da Vinci we firmly believe that each child is unique and has unique needs, and we do our best to meet the needs of each child.
