Dear Academie DaVinci Charter School Community,

It is an honor to introduce myself as the new principal of Academie DaVinci Charter School and to join this extraordinary school community.

I arrived at ADV as a seasoned (better than “old”) teacher and principal.  I began my career in education in 1992, which I like to refer to as the late 1900s. When I moved to Florida from Colorado in 2019, I had to apply and take many tests to receive my licensure in elementary education and leadership.  I also have a Reading Endorsement, Civics Endorsement, and a Coaching Endorsement.  I began my education career in Florida at a Transformation Zone school in St. Petersburg where I was hired and worked as a Literacy Coach in a PK-5th grade school.  This is where I was able to learn Florida standards, assessments, and educational ways of work.

Prior to Florida, I worked as a K-8th grade Principal at the first charter school in the state of Colorado for twelve years.  I loved my time and work in a charter school and when this opportunity arose at ADV, I knew that I wanted it! Walking around our school on a daily basis has given me insight into your school community and student population and I am so happy to be part of such a wonderful educational environment.  ADV reminds me of my school in Colorado and it already feels like home.

In closing, please know that my door is always open to you. I heartily welcome your conversation and positive input throughout this year and the years to come. Let us always keep our students the primary focus of our collaborative relationship and work.

Sincerely,

Yvette Brown
Principal
