Report Child Abuse, Abandonment, or Neglect

If a child is in immediate danger, call 911.

Florida law requires suspected child abuse, abandonment, or neglect to be reported immediately to the Florida Abuse Hotline. Reports may be made by telephone at 1-800-96-ABUSE (1-800-962-2873) or through the Florida Department of Children and Families online reporting system.

Report Employee or Educator Misconduct

Alleged misconduct by an educational support employee, instructional employee, or school administrator that affects the health, safety, or welfare of a student should be reported promptly, orally or in writing.

Report concerns to Principal Yvette Brown through the Academie Da Vinci school office at 727-298-2778 or bohrm@academiedavinci.org.

If an allegation involves the principal, or the reporter is unable to report through the school office, contact Governing Board President Susan Latvala using the information on the Governance page.

Employees who fail to report suspected or actual child abuse or alleged employee misconduct may be subject to disciplinary action under school policy and applicable law. Educators may also face certificate-related consequences.

Additional guidance is available from the Florida Department of Education Professional Practices Services.
